The only problem with Filipa Pato's wines is that there aren't enough of them. I guess that's a good problem to have and it speaks to the quality of everything she does and most of her wines are hard to come by. The Nossa Calcario is her trophy white and often rated as one of the top white wines in all of Portugal. Made in a Burgundian style from the native Bical grape, this is fermented in 500 litre barrels with stirring of the lees every two months. There is a richness and creaminess here but with a striking minerality that makes an impression. An absolute stunner of a wine.
