Amarone is like Italian wine royalty. It's luscious texture, deep color, and powerful flavor are a result of air drying the grapes into something similar to a raisin prior to fermentation. The reduced water content in the fruit ends up coming out into something more like a syrup, which ferments into a powerful and insanely delicious wine. Pra do a fantastic job with all of their wines and their Amarone della Valpolicella is no different. Elegant stuff here from one of the region's best.
