Amarone della Valpolicella is really one of the great wines of Italy. It’s required process of air drying the grapes before fermentation leaves the fruit concentrated with sugar, creating a finished product that is both rich and high in alcohol, like this one from Monte Santoccio. The small estate sits in the hills of Valpolicella and uses all estate grown fruit. All of their wines are fantastic, but we particularly love the Amarone.
