Cornas is in the core of world class Syrah production in the Northern Rhône and one of the great terroirs for expressing this noble grape variety. The wines of Jacques Leménicier are small production, but enormous quality and value. He began his winemaking studies in the 1970's under renowned winemaker Alain Voge before starting his own Domaine in the 1980's. His Cornas comes from a mix of foothill and hillside vineyards with some fruit coming from vines planted in the 1930's. Partial whole cluster is implemented in the fermentation process resulting in a wine that is elegant, complex and fascinating. Bright fruited and mineral charged, deep and intriguing, this is an age-worthy, impressive wine.
