Germany is best known for Riesling and other white wine varieties, but cool climate reds do very well and at the top of that list is Pinot Noir, or Spätburgunder as it is known locally. Weingut Bercher are an historic estate producing wine since the 1400's in the southwest region of Baden, where red varieties are at their best. This white wine, made from Pinot Noir is simply delicious. Soft fruited and medium-bodied with refreshing lemony acid that keeps us coming back to the glass.
