Located in Fumane, Monte Santoccio, at just more than 3 hectares, lies in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico appellation. Nicola Ferrari, winemaker, was 26 years old when he started working for Giuseppe Quintarelli, one of the region’s most respected winemakers. While there, he learned the importance of exercising control over the whole production process as a means to guarantee quality, especially by owning one’s own vineyards and vinifying one’s own grapes. Monte Santoccio prides itself on the fact that the winery owns the vineyards that produce the grapes for its wines. The Rosso Ferdinando is light, bright, juicy wine that is meant to be served with a chill. Wonderfully refreshing and dangerously easy to drink.
