The team behind El Hato y El Garabato farm 8 hectares (20 acres) of very old vines (80-120 years old) and their small winery is in a restored farmhouse located in Arribes del Duero overlooking the Douro river in western Spain. They and their “familial” team control every aspect of every process from vine to bottle to sales. Their hard work and approach is helping to put Arribes on the map. The Cotexa tinto is a bright, cool and gritty blend of Bastardo (Trousseau) and Juan Garcia with intensely fresh aromatics of cherries, herbs and some earth. Absolutely delicious and sophisticated.
