Domaine de Montille is not only one of the greatest domaines in Burgundy, but one of the greatest domaines in France. With a family heritage that can be traced back to the 17th century and a winemaking heritage rooted in Burgundy since 1750, the de Montilles have become synonymous with their hometown of Volnay. Over the years, the domaine has seen it's ups and downs but the path to their current era began in 1947 when Hubert de Montille took over and prioritized wines of place over commercial products. His son, Etienne, joined the domaine in 1983 and by 1995 was co-managing with his father. That same year they began the conversion to organic farming and in 2005 they made the move to biodynamics. The wines are some of the purest you'll find in Burgundy and their Pommard is beautiful expression of an appellation that we love. This is rustic and mineral driven with classic Pinot Noir elegance.
