Now in the hands of winemaker Martin Mittelbach, the more than 1,000 year old Tegernseerhof estate is an institution in the Wachau. The 'Superin' Grüner Veltliner comes from vines planted in 1999 on a flat, gneiss heavy river terrace next to the Danube. Hand harvested, rigorous sorting and natural ferment in stainless steel give a wine with laser-like acid that still manages to maintain a depth that develops in the glass and showcases how great the mineral components of these wines can be.
