Clos Uroulat 'Cuvée Marie' Jurançon Sec, South West, France 2017
- Gros Manseng, Courbu
- Practicing Organic
Jurançon is one of those wine regions that exists under the radar and makes you think "where has this been all my life?" once you discover it. Nestled in the cool hills at the base of the Pyrénées in the South West wine region of France, Jurançon is better known for its sweet wines. The dry (sec) wines hailing from this appellation are one of a kind - so interesting, wildly aromatic and intense. Clos Uroulat is headed by winemaker Charles Hours who delivers a dry style of this wine made with Gros Manseng and "embellished with a Courbu cloud." This is stewed apple with brilliant, zippy acid, flint and a hint of petrol. So so delicious.
