This group of winemakers (Laura Ramos, Jose Martínez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente) has certainly created some buzz to the say the least. Their Envínate label, which focuses on traditional winemaking, exceptional plots and maximum expression of the land has drawn massive attention in the winemaking world. The wines are beautiful - all of them. Their 'Benje' bottling is sourced from several vineyards 70-120 years old, all untrained, all organic, at high elevation on Tenerife. Vinification is done separately by parcel using a mix of concrete and plastic tank, while ageing is done in neutral oak and concrete. This is a sensational wine just brimming with character and one of our top recommendations.
