The term 'pure' comes to mind when thinking about the wines of Friuli based producer, i Clivi. They work with indigenous varieties and tend to their vineyards with such precision that the end result are wines that are so wonderfully expressive and varietally true that they are hard to ignore. Schioppettino is a beautiful grape that is capable of producing superbly elegant wines. This is fermented and aged in stainless steel using wild yeasts and is light and bright, showcasing a myriad of raspberry and cherry with a dusting of baking spice and green pepper.
